Ramadan

2023-03-23

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is the month of prayer and fasting, observed by Muslims all over the world.  During Ramadan, one should fast from sunrise to sunset. But since the sun does not set in northernmost Sweden during the summer, Sweden’s Muslims usually relate to the hours of sunshine in locations such as Stockholm or Mecca.

ABOUT THIS SITE
The Swedish Institute produces a great deal of information on Sweden. The resources are intended for an international audience with an interest in Sweden and the Swedes. On this site, we have organised all of our resources based on topics to help you find materials for presentations, discussions or events. We have also put together toolkits, which are ready-made sets of tools and instructions on a topic that will provide both ideas and materials for your themed event. Read more
