Rosh Hashanah

At sunset on 15 September 2023 begins Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. It marks the beginning of the Ten Days of Repentance, which conclude with Yom Kippur (24–25 September 2023). This year’s Rosh Hashanah marks the start of year 5784 in the Hebrew calendar.

Jews have long historical ties to Sweden and are recognised as one of the country’s five official national minorities. And Yiddish is one of Sweden’s official minority languages.
