Swedish apple crumble pie

Autumn in Sweden means apple season! Here’s our recipe for Swedish apple crumble pie (‘smulpaj’).

Preheat oven to 225°C. Grease a pie pan.

4 apples
130 g plain flour
50 g rolled oats
100 g butter (room temperature)
2 tbsp white sugar

Ground cinnamon

Remove the cores of the apples, then slice the apples. Put the slices in the pan and sprinkle with ground cinnamon and sugar.

Mix flour, oats, sugar. Add butter and mix to crumbly mass, using your fingers. Crumble the dough on top of the apple slices.

Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes.

Serve with vanilla sauce or ice cream. Enjoy!
