Swedish novelist Karin Smirnoff sure has given the topic a lot of thought, both in her Jan Kippo trilogy and in her first Millenium book – the seventh in the series. On a cold winter day way up north, Smirnoff elaborated on her writing.
Karin Smirnoff debuted with her novel suite about Jana Kippo in 2018. Her books have been a great success both in Sweden and internationally.
With her latest book, Smirnoff takes over the torch in the world-famous Millennium series. 'The Girl in the Eagle's Talons' is book number 7 in the series. Once again, Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomqvist’s paths cross, this time in northern Sweden.

Karin Smirnoff, what makes North Sweden special?
Mats Strandberg Have you ever experienced the nail-biting suspense of a Mats Strandberg novel? Meet the Swedish author when he shares his thoughts on being a horror, sci-fi and fantasy novelist. All of this on a dusky stroll through Stockholm!
To date, his books have been translated into 28 languages. His breakthrough came with 'The Circle', a book that he wrote together with Sara Bergmark Elfgren. This book became the first instalment of a young adult fantasy trilogy by the writing duo.
Strandberg's young adult novel 'The End' has received numerous awards and was named one of the best young adult books of 2020 by Kirkus.

Bim Eriksson How do you bring a narrative to life through illustrations? Meet the Swedish comic artist Bim Eriksson in her studio for a insight about the many roles of a comic artist.
Bim Eriksson got her big breakthrough in 2021 with the graphic novel 'Baby Blue' – a dystopian story about a society where failure, grief and mental ill-health are banned.
Eriksson’s work has appeared in numerous Swedish periodicals and daily publications. In 2021, she featured as one of 12 comic book artists in Invisible Lines, an EU project that promotes the production, circulation and internationalisation of comics, graphic novel and illustration.
