Eat Smart Challenge

Food relates to everyone. The way we raise, process, package and transport our food radically impacts our lives, communities and the planet. Luckily, there is a huge potential to make the food system smarter by changing the way we eat. Eat Smart Challenge is an online activity with seven hands-on challenges made to raise awareness and help people understand why their choice of food matters.  With the toolkit Eat Smart Challenge organisers challenge participants, partners and others to explore food and the way they eat. This toolkit also contains tips for pre- and post events in connection with the on-line activity.

Instructions

The manual explains how to carry out and invite participants to an Eat Smart Challenge.

The Swedish Institute and Living Cities must be mentioned as partners in all communication about the project. Please use all the graphic material for the challenge, provided by SI.

 Target groups

Students, entrepreneurs, change-makers, influencers, persons interested in food and how it is connected to a sustainable planet, staff at an office or an Embassy. Basically everyone!

Financial support

Swedish embassies and consulates may apply for financial support of maximum 40,000 SEK to carry out the Eat Smart challenge with a pre- or post event.

For projects aiming to strengthen cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region the level of financial support is limited to a maximum of SEK 100,000. Up to 30 per cent of the granted sum may be used for external project management.

How to apply

To apply, please fill out the application form.

The application must be sent in at least two months before the challenge takes place. Resources are limited and financial support may not be available at the end of the year. Limits may apply.

Individuals or organisations who would like to participate or carry out an Eat Smart Challenge should contact the Swedish embassy or consulate in your area.

How to report

After completed event, fill out the project report for toolkits.
