Online book fair 2021

Looking for an easy-to-use toolkit to promote Swedish literature? This unique cooperation between the Swedish Institute, the Gothenburg Book Fair, and the Swedish Arts Council, offers 10 specially selected author conversations, focusing on current trends in Swedish children’s and youth literature. Pick your choice among the seminars listed below, and launch your own online book fair on social media, or use as separate postings.

The toolkit comes complete with authors’ bios and easy-to-use scripts for social media postings.

For the 2020 online book fair material, see below.

Instructions

(1) Make a selection of the seminars you think will attract your target group. A list of available seminars can be found under “Building Blocks” below.

(2) Use the prepared social media posts under Building blocks for each seminar to create own postings on social media channels of your choice (e.g. Facebook, Instagram). Choose whether you wish to use author’s photos or the specially designed banner template for your postings.

(3) Set up a digital event or just share on your social media platform. Decide whether you wish to share the material following a set schedule (for instance one post per day, or three posts in a week), or if you prefer a more improvised approach.

Start the campaign by posting the promotion film below to push for the series in social media. The film comes with a script so that local language can be inserted.

Possible follow-up activities could include Facebook Live events or similar with a local journalist/writer/translator/librarian interviewing a particular Swedish author/critic/publisher on adjacent themes. Visit the #DigitallyYours toolkit for possible formats.

Swedish student – and then?

More than 18,000 people study Swedish every year at universities outside Sweden. Language studies are often combined with studies in social and natural sciences as well as technical subjects. But what happens then? In this film you will meet four young people. They have all studied Swedish and greatly benefited from their language studies.

habitants, rien de tel que d’en apprendre la langue. Que cela soit pour y
étudier ou pour y travailler, ne serait-ce que pour une courte période,
il est fortement recommandé de parler un peu de suédois.
