Photo: SODRE About this toolkit Swedish foreign missions that are members of a local EUNIC cluster can apply for guidance and financial support for cultural cluster projects, such as exhibitions and film or theatre festivals. EUNIC is the European network of organisations that engage in cultural relations, and clusters are the network's local branches. Cooperating within EUNIC can be a good way for Swedish foreign missions to highlight important Swedish profile issues from a European perspective and to strengthen Swedish participation within the EU framework.
Aims and target audience The core purpose of the toolkit is to enable and stimulate cooperation both within the EUNIC clusters, and the local cultural communities.
How to use EUNIC collaborations Swedish embassies and consulates can submit cooperational projects that fit the EUNIC cultural policy and are initiated in agreement with the coorganizing members of their local EUNIC clusters.
The overall aim of the project should be to
promote culture and intercultural dialogue for peaceful inter-community relations support culture as an engine for sustainable social and economic development strengthen the applying foreign mission’s strategic role within the cluster over time.
Become a EUNIC member Financial support is only available for Swedish embassies and consulates that have been delegated the right of joining the EUNIC Cluster as member on behalf of the Swedish Institute. The Swedish Institute is the facilitating member and main representative for Sweden in the network.

European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) is a European network of European national cultural institutes and similar organizations working in the field of cultural diplomacy and intercultural relations. Established in 2006 EUNIC’s mission is to promote cultural diversity and mutual understanding across cultures.
EUNIC brings to life to cultural collaboration in more than 100 countries worldwide with a network of 139 clusters. EUNIC clusters are established where at least three EUNIC members are represented. Clusters engage in cultural relations, co-creating activities with partner organisations.
In 2017 EUNIC became a partner of the European Commission in defining and implementing European cultural policy. Within this partnership, increased cooperation between EUNIC clusters and EU-delegations is one of the main targets.
