Sami lives and culture have historically revolved around reindeer herding, and this is also the central theme of the film 'Stolen' ('Stöld' in Swedish), starring Elin. Imagine if you were a reindeer herder, and someone kept killing your reindeer. Meanwhile, the police call it 'theft'. This is the basic plot of the drama.
🎬 Directed by Elle Márjá Eira, 'Stolen' is based on a book by Ann-Helén Laestadius. The film is available on Netflix.
⚖️ Sweden's four other national minorities are Jews, Roma, Swedish Finns and the Tornedalians. The cultures, traditions and languages of all the national minorities have special protection in Swedish law, and so does their right to information, to participate and to influence.
