06 April 2025 This is a day to recognize the positive role of sport in society. Sport can be used as a tool to drive social change and development. It can create community and unite individuals and groups.
Sport plays an important role in Swedish society, with over a third of all Swedes being members of a sports club. The sports movement in Sweden is characterised by safety, inclusivity and joy. Everyone's right to participate and fair play are central values.
