At sunset on 2 October 2024 begins Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. It marks the beginning of the Ten Days of Repentance, which conclude with Yom Kippur (2–4 October 2024). This year’s Rosh Hashanah marks the start of year 5785 in the Hebrew calendar.
Jews have long historical ties to Sweden and are recognised as one of the country's five official national minorities. And Yiddish is one of Sweden's official minority languages.
