Alpine tobogganing was developed in Sweden by Christopher Fladvad, who drew inspiration from luge and natural tobogganing. The Swedish national championships in this niche sports discipline only launched in 2014. The hope is that the sport will grow and be introduced at the Winter Olympics one day!
Skellefteå Rodel – Sweden’s largest association for alpine tobogganing – is the home of reigning Swedish Alpine tobogganing champion Luna Wiklund, who shows us the ropes on the slope. 🙌
