Captions With the holidays just around the corner, it’s time to wish you all a very Merry Christmas – or as we say in Swedish, 'God jul'! 🎄 🎅 🇸🇪 In fact, we celebrate several holidays on the eve of the holiday. So Christmas for us is on Christmas Eve, Midsummer is on Midsummer’s Eve, and so on.
One explanation is that historically, we used to count the sunset as the end of one day and the start of another, not midnight. According to this logic, Christmas Day (25 December) began at sunset on what is now 24 December.
Regardless of when, how or where you celebrate Christmas – or if you don’t celebrate at all – we would like to wish you Happy Holidays! ❄️
