The creation of Pippi began when Astrid Lindgren's daughter Karin was ill in bed and asked her mother to tell her a story. It was then that Lindgren came up with Pippi Longstocking, the supergirl who would eventually become an international icon. 👑
'Since the name was remarkable, it had to be a remarkable girl,' Lindgren said.
Pippi is not only the strongest girl in the world, she is also a symbol of freedom, strength, kindness, courage and justice. She stands up for the weak and oppressed. Pippi shows us that we always have the choice to help each other and make the world a little better, a little more just.
