Ramadan: suhur and iftar meals How to use the material This post for social media is about Ramadan in Sweden, with focus on the two meals suhur and iftar (pre-dawn meal and evening meal). In 2025, the evening of 28 February marks the beginning of Ramadan for Muslims in Sweden.

Captions During the coming month, Muslims across Sweden and the world fast during their respective daylight hours. Ramadan is a time to strengthen connections with loved ones and engage in acts of charity, a time of reflection and spiritual growth.
Muslims today make up the largest non-Christian religious group in Sweden. The cultural diversity among Muslims in Sweden explains why there is no single cuisine that defines Ramadan in the country. Nevertheless, the days are structured by two meals:
🍳 'Suhur' is the pre-dawn meal aimed at preparing the body for a long day of fasting. The meal can include food such as eggs, beans, yogurt, dates, nuts, oats, and fruits.
🍲 'Iftar' is the evening meal that marks the break of fasting at sunset. For many Muslims, it's an occasion to be shared with others. On the pictured iftar table, there's Harira soup, falafel, tabouleh, and briouats.
