By wearing mismatched socks today, we celebrate differences and the equal value and rights of all people.
21 March is World Down Syndrome Day, a global awareness day officially observed by the United Nations. The date is symbolic, as people with Down syndrome have three copies of chromosome 21.
This initiative began in the United States and was adopted by the Swedish Down Syndrome Association in 2014.
