How to use Swedish art This toolkit consists of two parts: the art exhibition Expedition Art and social media videos highlighting contemporary and historical Swedish art moments. You can use the parts of this toolkit independently.
Expedition Art is a comprehensive exhibition requiring collaboration with a venue that can provide support for art printing, framing, mounting, projection, and public relations. Seminars featuring scientists and artists can be organised in partnership with the Swedish Institute and the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat. At the end of the exhibition period, for copyright protection reasons, all prints must be returned to the Swedish Institute.

Since 1988, artists have been invited by the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat to join scientists aboard the icebreaker Oden. Expedition Art is an exhibition presenting works by six of these artists: Bigert & Bergström, Efva Lilja, Hanna Ljungh, Ida Rödén, Josef Bull, and Karin Alfredsson.
Swedish art moment videos This is a series of short art videos intended for social media and screening. The videos are between one and two minutes long and tell the story of a specific artwork and its historical, cultural, or social context. This is a series of short art videos intended for social media and screening.
About the Swedish art scene Artistic freedom has always been a key value in Swedish cultural life. This has contributed to a rich artistic landscape where artists have been free to take a stand. The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm was also one of the first in the world to open its doors to women, paving the way for internationally renowned female artists.
