Director: Lasse Hallström
Director’s biography: Screenwriter/director Lasse Hallström was born 1946 in Stockholm. In the beginning of the 70’s he worked mostly together with the two comic actors Magnus Härenstam and Lars Brännström for the national Swedish television. His first cinema feature, A Lover and His Lass premiered in 1975 and his first international success came with My Life as a Dog (1985) which was awarded an Oscar for Best Foreign feature. Since the end of the 80ies Hallström has been working in the USA and directed internationally acclaimed movies like Once Around (1991), Who’s Eating Gilbert Grape? (1993), Something to Talk About (1995), The Cider House Rules (1999) and Chocolat (2000).

In the beginning of the 70’s he worked mostly together with the two comic actors Magnus Härenstam and Lars Brännström for the national Swedish television. His first cinema feature, A Lover and His Lass premiered in 1975 and his first international success came with My Life as a Dog (1985) which was awarded an Oscar for Best Foreign feature. Since the end of the 80ies Hallström has been working in the USA and directed internationally acclaimed movies like Once Around (1991), Who’s Eating Gilbert Grape? (1993), Something to Talk About (1995), The Cider House Rules (1999) and Chocolat (2000)."

"content": "Director’s biography: Screenwriter/director Lasse Hallström was born 1946 in Stockholm. In the beginning of the 70’s he worked mostly together with the two comic actors Magnus Härenstam and Lars Brännström for the national Swedish television. His first cinema feature, A Lover and His Lass premiered in 1975 and his first international success came with My Life as a Dog (1985) which was awarded an Oscar for Best Foreign feature. Since the end of the 80ies Hallström has been working in the USA and directed internationally acclaimed movies like Once Around (1991), Who’s Eating Gilbert Grape? (1993), Something to Talk About (1995), The Cider House Rules (1999) and Chocolat (2000).",
